There are many benefits to eating seasonal produce. For one, seasonal produce tends to be less expensive than unseasonal produce because it can be grown and sold in greater abundance. Seasonal fruits and veggies also tend to taste better than unseasonal varieties because they’re grown more naturally and they usually don’t have to travel as far to get to your supermarket. That also means that seasonal produce is higher in the natural nutrients your body needs. When it comes to buying seasonally in the wintertime, don’t worry about a lack of variety. Kale, squash, citrus, radishes, leeks, mushrooms, and garlic are just a few items that are seasonal to the fall and winter.
